Hi together, I´ve just finished my DIY-Drums ;D You can see the whole story in German here: www.drummerforum.de/forum/54636-trommeltheo-ist-elektrifiziert-oder-das-noro-land-ist-fertig.htmlNow i wanna change my Brain from TD8 to DDrum 4 + TD8 (only for Cymbals and Dancefloor effects. So i need 2 things to know: is it all the same how i solder the input-jack in the Toms (Mono) and how i have to solder the cable inside the snare to the jack? i´ve made a plan. Is there someone, you can make the missing Lines? Thanks a lot! Theo

Guten Abend Theo :-)
ddrum4 doesn't use stereo jacks at all (except the hi-hat channel). Even the snare (head + rim) uses two mono cables. If your snare features one stereo socket you have to split the signal into two mono ones.

Yes i know, thanks, I´ve already bought a Y-Cable for it. The Problem i ´ll see is the way i´ve soldered it know, configured for Positional Sensing for Roland Moduls with changing Poles between Head and Rim-Trigger like this: Theo

I don't know the Roland wiring polarity but position sensing has nothing to do with the wiring between head and rim. ddrum4 features position sensing as well with just one mono cable. Position sensing is conducted by analysing the piezo signal from the head. The rim doesn't have to do anything with it. It's a seperate trigger channel. I think you just have to split the wiring from the two snare piezos. Toms shouldn't be a problem as they don't have rim channels on the ddrum4 anyway. That being said, I've never soldered piezos to sockets on my own ;D

OK, i ´ve understand. The rroland Modul needs the other polarisation for PS and i was afraid, that my already soldered Snare wont function with the DDrum-Brain. I haven´t time yet to try it out... Well I see, i must built up my Set in the Cellar-Romm of the Grandfather from my wife *lol*

Hi Theo,
if you would disconnect the rim, would the PS stop to work on Roland modules?
Maybe you could install two mono sockets in the snare. If you use the ddrum4 you just use two mono cables. If you play the Roland module you use an adapter which picks up the two mono signals and does the Roland specific wiring into one stereo cable. That's what comes into my mind if you want to be able to use the snare pad with both modules.

Hi Lite, no, we ´ve had an-E-Drummer Meeting on 27th of November last year, where somone tried with a simple switch for the Rim-Trigger, if this would have an effect on PS. NO! PS will function with only ONE trigger on Roland. But the guy woh produce and sold me my Cushion-Trigger told me to do so....

OK, that was what I thought. One trigger signal required for position sensing. No rim. Same with ddrum.
