New member here. I have been developing a DIY hybird kit using the DDrum pro triggers, DDTI trigger modual and a DDrum NIO multipad. I have a 5 piece accoustic kit with 3 electronic cymbals and an electronic hihat pad with a foot contoller. My goal was to be able to use the NIO as both a soung module and additiional pads for my kit. My problem is when the trigger module is connected to the NIO via MIDI, the only sounds I can get are what are programed on the 9 pads on the NIO. In addition, if you change the kit on the NIO, it changes all the DDTI trigger programed sounds so the two units can't be used independantly. Not sure what I am doing wrong or if I am screwed. Thanks for any help.

Hello mdusbiber and welcome! If I understand correctly the NIO is your only sound source and triggered by both the integrated pads and the ddrum acoustic triggers? If that is correct then the acoustic triggers (and e-cymbals) will only be able to produce sounds that are setup for each NIO pad that match the midi note number setup on the DDTi. The 2 extra dual zone trigger inputs on the NIO can either have pads connected directly or be triggered by the DDTi if the midi notes are setup to match. Basically you cannot expand the number of sounds available by using the DDTi, only be able to trigger the same sounds via both the acoustic triggers and the NIO pads. Cheers! Ken
