I know I am emotionally attached to my ddrum3 but It has not been used for10 years other than to recently check it out. The lack of cymbals has me using a Roland td-27 which is not all that great especially on the toms and I also have a 2box kit. The ddrum3 is probably faster but maybe not as high of a bit rate but I don't know if I should keep it or not. I have a mac that syncs with it, Turbo, cards etc. It's in great shape but maybe it's too old to get what it's worth to me? Maybe mix it with the Roland for Cymbals? Looking for thoughts or opinions.

I know I am emotionally attached to my ddrum3 but It has not been used for10 years ... Hi photobeat! Yeah, a difficult decision for sure! I watched for over two years until a pristine dd3 became available in the US for a reasonable (to me) price and domestic shipping. The units outside of the US have been mostly sitting forever likely due to the high international shipping costs. I have not used it yet in a playing situation but rather for r&d work to further extend support for the ddrum3 sound files in ddrum4edit (which is going well!). I purchased my first ddrum4 module in 2005 for a very specific purpose and afterwards it basically sat in the closet until 2019 when needed for another particular gig. Until then I had never even ventured beyond the stock sounds available via the pallet so you never know when your interest will get rekindled ;-) I also still have a Roland DDR-30 kit from 1986 that I keep around for that moment when I want to re-visit those lovely 80's sounds! With something like the ddrum3, once gone you'll likely not replace. I am curious though, if you have the 2box, does that not suffice for cymbals rather than the Roland? I have a 2box module as well, but again so far just used only for r&d work with the dsnd files. I am still quite satisfied with the ddrum4 modules for playing. And of course when I need an acoustic fix, I just move over to the Ludwigs ;-) Good Luck in your decision process! Cheers! Ken

Thaks Ken. After playing with superior drummer 3 and a Roland kit I think the time has come to let it go. I have a 2 box, it's great but the module is not fun to use and the HH is not usable compared to Roland. SD3 VST is just wow and easier than using the ddrum 3, although I would never say better. I also think the pearl mimic is superior. It's hard though, I am emotionally attached to the ddrum 3. It's simplicity and complexity is still amazing even now. I have a clean module, Turbo, Mac laptop from the 90's that loads samples in. Full library. The midi kit change controller, even some pads I probably will just give with the sale. No clue on value yet.
