I've been trying to set up a roland pad (from td4 kit) with my ddrum 4 se. The pad is a dual zone pad w/ pad and rim. I've hooked up a trs cable with an adapter that splits it to two monos (each into it's own ddrum trigger channel). The problem is that both monos are getting the same signal. I've tried this with several cables including a trs insert cable. All give the same results. I've read about this method being used succesfully online but haven't seen anything about success with this particular pad and the ddrum 4 se. Is the Roland pad possibly wired up differently than the cables I'm using?

Have you checked the gain / threshold settings for crosstalk between the two triggers? Be aware that dd4 simply plays both snare and rim sounds, it doesnt do any muting of the head sound. Actually no ddrum modules do, strangely enough.

Thanks for your reply. I tried everything. Finally I read up some more on different types of pads and apparently I would need to use a stereo pad and not a dual zone pad. From what I've read the stereo pads have true discreet signals and the Roland's, for instance, do not. What you are saying is correct about the muting. The Roland module is deciding which sound to play apparently by the velocity at which the pad is hit, so both sounds couldn't be on at once.
