I had bought a DD1 set simply because it was cheap and something to practice on that wouldn't bug the neighbors. But now I am putting together a small studio and plan on doing some things with electronic drums, so I need something that will actually work. So I came across this forum and was excited to learn that ddrum actually appears to have some decent stuff. Of course, I have been familiar with their trigger products since they came out, but my introduction to their e-drums was this DD1 set. Not too impressive. So I got excited and went to the official ddrum Web site, only to find that the DD1 is the only e-drum set they are advertising. What's the story???

So I got excited and went to the official ddrum Web site, only to find that the DD1 is the only e-drum set they are advertising. What's the story??? Since Clavia sold off the ddrum line and namesake to Armadillo years back they don't really produce anything other than entry level gear when it comes to electronic drum set gear . Armadillo more sells acoustic drums through the ddrum name but they still make the ddrum triggers with the same quality as when Clavia made them . They pretty much dropped the electronic drum side of things wanting to focus more on making acoustic drums , but released the DD1 as an electronic drum set offering from their company . The DD1 kits are pretty much night and day different from the quality and versatility as the earlier ddrum modules and pads when Clavia was still producing them and have quite a difference in construction and appearance . If you search around the net you can still find some details about the ddrum2 , ddrum3 , and ddrum4 kits that Clavia designed . You can still find ddrum pads and even modules occasionally on sites like ebay . sam(otacon28)
