Hi Folks, So here I am finally get a unit with clutch at a far cost. So I buy myself a cable balanced plug her in and not. i get the open closed bit to work, but no stick work, i have pulled the cable apart metered what out just fine. The brain shows the led flash for the click, but nothing for the stick sensor. I have looked over a few of the other posts with no other sights of hope. I pulled the unit apart and see that a wire was off the trigger dropped of, so I fixed that bit. so what are the chances that the circuit is done. without a bit of other iron work on other units. Trigger replacement ideas? Thanks Monkey

The cast hihat circuit does not affect the "stick work", so either one of the leads from the piezo has come off inside the pad (can be repaired), or it's a setting in the module. Have you checked threshold and the gain for the hihat input, and also that it is set to hht? Could maybe be that the sound you have assigned is corrupt.

Hi, I have defaulted the unit, reloaded as many hi hat samples I could find from the sounds page. I have pulled the hi hat fully apart, redone all the wiring, beeped out the stereo xlr cable, at this point I am think the controller has the issue.
I am wondering about replacing the trigger for the stick, can a newer mesh style trigger replace the plate style. Before I go ripping into the brain.
Also the unit is a DDrum4. that was a V1.32 and is now a 1.50

Try to connect the hihat pad to another input. Try another cable. You may want to rule out the pad first before considering problems with the module. Check that you have foot controller (closed to open position) and aftertouch (closed to depressed) data from MIDI out of your ddrum4 when moving the clutch. You can use this piece of software: www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ Also make sure the module is set for 8 midinotes for the hihat on the "Note P"-setting. If you choose to disasemble your hihat to checke the piezo, here's a series of photos I took when I repaired a cast cymbal I bought which was faulty: www.mediafire.com/?833ofdw09bwbcj0

So take 2, I know I know, it has been a while since I have been able to focus on this project, but here we go.
So I found another Hi hat unit for cheap so OK maybe eBay did me wrong the first time, well 2nd Hi hat same problem, so here I sit.
Problem:
1. the Hi Hat only channel only sounds the Open close (click)sounds, no pad trigger what so ever
Trouble shooting:
1. Moved the hi hat to a cymbal channel pad function works fine
2. Patched a cymbal to a hi hat sound and funny enough the hi hat clutch will control open/close a totally separate hi sample on a different channel. So I'm thinking my hi hat controller is fine.
Options:
1. sadly without tools at the house. I wonder if I have a Pin 2 hot XLR to TRS instead of a Pin 3 cable.
2. I had installed a MIDI program to look at info being sent and from what I see the controller is work other then the lack of pad hits.
I am just at a lose of if it was the xlr cable way the click function would work as it seems to be OK.
Help: I maybe looking for a board member to see if I ship them my Module and Hi Hat controller if they can get the same problem I am before I break down and buy another Ddrum 4 module. I will cover all the shipping and lets keep it in the USA. I live in Knox, TN. if anyone is near by.
Thanks Monkey
