Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I am an electronics engineer & drummer based in Brisbane, Australia.
Earlier this year I managed to acquire a DDRUM 4SE module, however, the original sample files had all been deleted. Originally I had a problem with trying to communicate with the module, as the USB midi converter I was trying to use just didn't work.
I then purchased an M-Audio UNO interface, as I saw from the forum that this interface seemed to work OK and then I was able to upload the midi samples from the forum download links without problem.
I need to do further testing with the unit, but it appears from my first operation of the module that all the midi samples are in the unit, however, the kits don't appear to be.
Could someone possibly give me some idea on what this may be caused by, or do I just need to change some settings, or spend more time to get to know the sound module operation better!
Hopefully I can get time in 2012 to build my own custom kit using a mixture of off-the-shelf triggers, plus some I have in design at the moment using FSRs (force sensing resistors - like KAT products) instead of piezos.

The P-kits are removable, the F-kits are permanent within the module. When you upload the samples that make up a F-kit, it will work again. If you can see the sample number, but can't hear it, the sound could simply be assigned to a different output (like the B-outputs, there a four of them). Or sounds could have been corrupted, and the velocity you trigg when pressing the keys on the front are the ones that are missing, try changing the "panel trig level". It's all in the manual, it's a good read

Rhythman59, have you tried loading the configuration file for the SE? It was shipped on the updated Sound Library CD (1.5 I believe) and can be uploaded to your ddrum4 the same way the sound files are. That will reset all of the settings and kit assignments back to the original factory configuration.
