Hi there, just want to say thanks to all who got this forum going, was long overdue. Spent the last six months umming and arring about selling my trusty ddrum 4 se but thanks to this forum i have now realised the outputs are not down i had them set at 3.00 rather than 1.50. (lol)So thanks for that some lucky ebayer nearly got a ddrum 4 on the cheap. Was considering going for an old td10 roland (because of the ddrum output issue) and the ease of having onboard effects. Have had MPC, Simmons (sds9, sds1(still got this with several eproms) D4, TD7, SPD11,SPD20, TD-8, but ddrum just cant be beaten. Would love alongside a SPD30 or a SPD SX but sadly with a 1 year old funds wont allow Have uploaded samples via ddrum tool into ddrum4 and i had to lose some for some reason. Still have pc but use mac so not as convenient unless i get a high premiumed virtual pc 7 from somewhere. Is it possible to restore the ddrum4(1.54) back to factory signature samples without using the ddrumtool. i understand you can do the settings without but is there a quickish way of making it sound just like it did from the factory?? Mainly like old premier 70s sounds(I know, but i do noble & cooley, gretsch etc. Thanks guys great site, looking forward to getting the most out of my unit now ive found this site... Adam

Hi, Glad you got your outputs sorted I made a post about how to upload samples to ddrum4 without the ddrum4tool. unofficially-ddrum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=sampleuploading&action=display&thread=11You can do a SysEx dump from any midi sequencer, PC, Mac or hardware. Just load the sample onto a midi track in the sequencer, choose the MIDI device connected to ddrum4 and press play. This actually works a lot better than the ddrum4tool for me, so I always do it like this. Hope it helps!

Right so im guessing i can do a sysex dump through logic pro 8 through amt8 midi into ddrum4 using no pc and ddrum tool? I'll have a go at that. Should i be able to overcome my pc phobia and use the ddrum tool, Would i be able to replace all my messed up sound with the ddrum4 cd like as a master dump? Or if i remember the only way to get it back to factory soundsets is a lot of individual sample removing then reuploading? Whilst attempting to decode the sound sample names!! Is it possible to just put the cd into the ddrumtool and do a complete reformat quickly? Would be interested to hear other peoples favourite sounds throught the librarys, a lot of us seem to have the same snare sample. Can i start a thread on this? Thanks adam
