Hi, Iam new to this forum. I bought a DDRUM 4 with version 1.32. Now I wanted upgraded it to version 1.5 SE. I friend of mine do have an EPROM burner. Does anyone of you has got the .bin/.hex file of the 1.5 version and could send it to me via PN? I couldn't find it. Thanks Frank

Greeting Frank!
I have never stumbled across anyone who has the actual bin file to share but there are chips available on Ebay & Reverb that I suppose you have already discovered.
Cheers!
Ken

Hi. Here are ddrum4 eprom images. See rel notes below. Important! Check the Flash chip (8 of those) type on your dd4 hardware! Best, Deve. we.tl/t-2DpfWYOpth ------------------------------------ ddrum4 release: 1.50 for Intel Flash date: 2001-11-20 checksum: 61aa (in AMD 27C040 EPROM) - Audio level increased by 6 dB. - Set main volume (active on all 6 outputs) in SYSTEM-OPT menu. - Sends and receives MIDI main volume (ctrl 7). - SDS variation 5 has mono mode trig. - New palette, user and factory kits according to the Signature Edition sounds. - The dynamics can be turned off, the trig level will always be at 75 %. - In sound manager mode, one can select a whole sound group (hold SOUND while dialing). The total number of files in the group is shown. When any of these are marked (blinking), the number of marked files is shown. - No more demo songs (new ones will be added later). ------------------------------------ ddrum4 release: 1.54 for AMD Flash date: 2003-07-10 checksum: ae9a (in AMD 27C040 EPROM) - Adapted for AMD 29F080 Flash chip only. Use version 1.50 for Intel Flash.

Hi All! With Deve ( developer ) being so kind as to provide the bin files I thought it would be fun to do a burn test so I purchased a GQ-4x4 from MCUmall and some AMD27C040 chips. Reading an existing 1.5 eprom and comparing to the 1.5 bin file from Deve showed them to be the same so I burned to a new eprom, installed into my 1998 dd4 (originally 1.32), held my breath, and powered up. Success!! Cheers! Ken

The 1.50 would be the best between those two with respect to features. Are they originals from another working module? As long as they are intended for the dd4 they should be safe. Make sure to never attempt an upgrade from 1.50 or less to 1.54 as each is targeted for a different chip set.
Cheers!
