Hey all, I just fixed up a mesh head kit with Red Shot triggers and feed them into a DDTI unit. The unit triggers sounds from my Roland SPD-S and it works great. However, I can only play one surface at a time; when I for instance play the two toms at exactly the same time, only one tom will produce sound. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to change certain settings in the DDTI? I tried to alter the crosstalk value but it didn't have any effect.
Thanks! vaas

Hello vaas. I am not familiar with the Roland pad however I do have a DDTi. As a test I connected the DDTi to a ddrum4 module via Midi. All drum pads can be struck simultaneously and the module responds on all channels as if the pads were connected directly so not sure what might be causing your particular issue. The stock settings for x-talk and threshold should be sufficient for testing.
Regards,
Ken

Hey Ken, thanks for your message. I connected the DDTI to my laptop, triggering drum sounds in Cubase. Same thing happens: strike two pads at exactly the same time and only one corresponding sound is heard. No matter what I tweak inside the DDTI settings (cross talk, midi channel, threshold, etc), there's no change.
Any other ideas?

Hi vass, trying to replicate your scenario as closely as possible, I Midi'd the DDTi (using iConnect USB interface) to my MacBook Pro running Logic Pro, played one pad one at a time, then two at the same time. The attached image shows all of the DDTi settings (for both pad inputs) and also at the bottom is the result in Logic. All shows as expected. So does not answer what is not working in your setup but at least provides something to compare to. Regards, Ken

Hey Ken, thanks again for taking the time to help me out. I'm gonna try your settings, plus I'm gonna exchange the triggered mesh heads for rubber pads. See if that makes a difference. Will post the results here, thanks!
