Hi, have anyone of you been modifying the info on the eproms in soundpacs for ddrum 2 and ddrum AT? Need to know what hex and bin. file tool to use to use my own samples in the soundpacs or flashpac. I can burn to eproms so no problem there..

Hello, I am an old edrum colector (Tama,Simmons,Ddrum,Dynacord,Pearl...) and now I am the happy owner of some Ddrum modules: - Ddrumplate - Ddrumplus! - Ddrum2 (2) - DdrumAT (3) - Ddrum3 I have read all the Eproms of these Ddrum brains and I have some Eproms images of Ddrum2/AT soundpacks from another Ddrum user. I have made a custom sound board for my first ddrum2 brain 4 years ago (with 8 Eproms 27C1001) I will be able to make the same with 2 Eproms 27C4001 for the AT but have not made it yet. I have try to make my own soundpack and it work:you just have to replace sounds with exactly the same length inside the .bin file of the Eproms.I make it with cool edit and then burn Eproms with the resultant files. If you want I will help you..... Did you have a Flashpac ? I will be interested to see what's inside so perhaps I could make one myself..... Perhaps we could exchange .bin files each other? See you soon Thierry EPPHERRE from France

Hello!
I just bought a DDrum 2 v.3 but I not have it yet. The pack included a backup kitpac cartridge but it isn't the same that flashpac, is that right?
What is your opinion about ddrum 2 modul?
I think that I can learn a lot from you.
See you!

Hello, The two ddrum2 brains I had are v3 like your's. The kitpack is a cartridge used to store kits, the flashpac is used to store sounds in a flash memory....but I have neither! Ddrum2 like DdrumAT are realy very very good brains.....and the 8 bits samples are sounding very very well......The Ddrumplus! is also very good. You will not be disapointed... I've never had or used a ddrum2. But I've read people using it really like it. Interesting that every sound channel uses two sound generators (voices) varying the sound. This produces a fat sound, different to later modules adding sounds via software. And the drum head vibration algorithm was already installed, preventing the machine gun effect. Would like to hear a ddrum2 but never found anything on the web.

Mainly I want the ddrum 2 to triggering my acoustic kit. I also want to test it with mesh heads but I don't know if it will work good becouse ddrum 2 didn't incliude the mesh head algoritm yet. Finally I also will test it with my electronic kit by yamaha.
Do you think that ddrum 2 will work good in all the situations with a well adjustment of the threshold and sensitivily?
Thanks!

As said, I don't know the ddrum2. However, my understanding is that the ddrum2 didn't offer acoustig trigger algorithms at all? I don't know if it might work in spite of that. I think acoustic triggering was added with the ddrum AT (AT = acoustic triggering).

Give me time to record something with my ddrum 2 and I'll upload it to youtube. I hope not to have problems triggering my acustic kit, I will try it this weekend. Maybe Thierry could remove our dudes although I think that ddrum 2 have great sounds!

Does anyone have any ddrum EPROM images that you would like to share? I have the following:

Thanks!

Thats fantastic, I've been looking for ages. Although I have a ddrum 2 version 1 module, I expect the v3 info will be close. Many thanks for that. If anyone has a ddrum 2 version 1 manual please let me know on: collins@postpro.net

Hi Guys!
I Just bought a DDrum 2 Ver 4 and love the sound. I just miss hats. There just aren't any in the factory sounds. Now I am wondering where I can get them from. I think about burning an HiHat Eprom so that I have all the sounds from the machine + an own selection of hats. Does anybody have any experience with this? Or does anyone know of a soundpac that contains hats/cymbals/rides/crashes?
All the best, Martin
