Hi, I sold my great ddrum 3 system before a move to care for my parents. I miss it… Especially for practice and I heard that the toolbox units were the next generation lineage of ddrum. So I’m wondering if it would have the same 1000 levels of velocity and pressure sensitivity in being able to get the nuances of pitch bend, muting etc. Does anyone have any information about the comparability to the 2box units? Thank you! Vince

2 box would be slower with latency but for the price it is a damn good unit. The cymbals are much better in the new version but still not on the Roland level for HH and ride, but the drum sounds are really good. You don't have all the control of the ddrum but fiddling with all the ddrum power is too much for me, the 2 box are good out of the unit and it can take the ddrum sounds. I would also look at the pearl mimic of you are shopping.
