I just purchased / received a Ddrum3 module from an Ebay seller.
He claimed it worked perfectly, and he had excellent feedback, yet it doesn't even turn on.
It's not the external fuse.
-------------
Any ideas at all? Is this a known issue, with some kind of internal fix?
thx.

That doesn't sound like a lot of fun! I don't know your skill level in electronics, but I suggest opening the unit up and disconnecting the powersupply-board which is located at the left, and with a multimeter checking the in and output voltages to and from the board. The powerswitch often gives up in the old ddrum3's. In should of course be 110/230 AC depending on your location and out should, if I remember correctly be +12V, -12V and +5V DC.

Thanks, Krillo.
I'll check the on switch, internally, and report back here.
I had planned on rebuilding the psu, and replacing all the electrolytics anyway, but I didn't want to touch it unless the seller gives the OK, still with a refund possibility.
Knowing that the switch is a known issue helps a lot.

Say - This makes little sense, but just to be safe: You don't have to have a card in one of the top slots, do you? I tried to power it with both slots empty.
I can't think of any way that could blow the psu, but just to know for sure, can you confirm that this is OK?

You can operate the dd3 without cards inserted, no problem.

UPDATE:
I found the problem, and it turned out to be simple, once discovered: One of the internal connectors had come slightly loose. It was still connected, but the 2 locking arms had popped open.
Luckily, there seems to be no logic board damage form the loose connection. Whew ...
