hello all...new to the forum here. im not sure how many people are still viewing/posting here but i have a question.
i am building a reflection type pad from a donor 13" piccolo to use with my newly acquired ddrum4se. I would like to build this as close to the old ddrum cast pad as possible. does anyone have info on the innards of the cast snare from ddrum?? piezo size/location on the plate.....foam density/thickness etc etc.
many thanks in advance.

Hi I have a thread on here somewhere where I dissect a pad. The foam on top of the plate is fairly thick, 12mm or so. The older dd2 pads had thinner foam on top ca 5mm. They had a softer feel when played, but had not so good signal resolution, due to less damping of the plate. PS I don't like the name 'reflection plate'. There is no reflection taking place, it's just a means of extending the sensitivity of the piezo to a larger surface. The most important factor foor good triggering with dd module is dampening of the plate (ie thick top foam). Most important for positioning is that the plate is perfectly round, and that the underside foam is ONLY around the edge of the plate and that it is even, so that the plate can move in a symmetrical fashion and not wobble. Good luck
