Just thought I'd mention ... they set up a subforum at the 2Box forum for the DDrum owners .... Also, I'm not sure all the DDrum owners over there know about this forum ... so thought I'd post a link over there .... hey, it's all in the family ... so to speak... J

To answer the original question of this thread, here are MY reasons for not getting the 2box yet, in order of importance: 1) The latency 2) The flimsy pads 3) There not being different pad sizes available. 4) The weird crash sounds on the rides. It bums me out that the latency is so much worse than the ddrum modules, especially the cymbals. And to pay more money for something that actually performs worse has turned me off a lot. The rims reportedly break on a regular basis. A no go. The kit's been out now for a while and there's still no options on tom sizes And on the ride crashes: You don't crash a ride like you crash a crash!! Yeah, it's early and I haven't got my coffee yet but come on - If i pay a lot of money for a top-of-the-line-kit I expect theses details being taken care of. To explain what I mean, when you crash a ride, you put "some shoulder" into the ride, so that it "splashes", like a few inches of the side of the stick hits the bow of the ride. What you don't do is hit the ride on the edge, like you would a crash cymbal. Dave Weckl illustrates this great on his now old video "Back To Basics". Part of it's on YouTube, I can't find the part that I'm thinking of, but it's in there somewhere.
