No it was not, i bought it this way (sometimes you have to gamble, and might loose).
I think it's a rom issue.

Yeah, I would pull the ROMs and see if it starts. If you have an oscilloscope, check that the crystals run, and check that the voltages from the PS are there, +12, +5, -5V.

I have allready pull the roms and checked the cables, don't have a oscilloscope.
No result so far.
Btw it looks that someone put in a new powerunit, could it be that it is not strong enought ?
at the moment a don't have "version 2.08" on the screen but a blinking cursor and the led are blinking, but thats al no knob reacts.

You should be able to read the power rating of the power transformer. Original is 28VA. I wouldn't power it up if I suspected that the PS is modified without checking that it produces the correct voltages. The voltage regulators are mounted on the PS heatsink. Check the partnumbers and what they are supposed to output, info is available online. Remove the cable between PS and main board before powering it up, or you will risk damaging the main board. You need atleast a multimeter to find the faults.

Yesterday I bought a second ddrum3, really like new and perfect so far.
Now i cab test some part (like cables) in the other drum3.
With some luck i have 2 ddrum3 modules.
Btw great sound on the ddrum3.
With the ddrum3 came 4 precision pads a rack and a roland octopad pda-8 (with to triggers defect).

I have placed some part of the new ddrum3 in the one that has the problem and it is the top Circuit Board that caused the problem.
So now I have to find out what is the problm with this Circuit Board. I still think that some fluid (beer?) has caused the problem. maybe a good cleaning with alcohol might do the trick.
I let you know if there are some results.

Does the faulty ddrum3 work with the top board from the new one? It is common in electronics production to wash circuitboards. De-ionized water and a cleaning agent is used in a heated "bath", afterwards the card is left to dry (standing straight, so no fluid is left on the card) in an oven at 60 degrees C. I would avoid getting the display wet though.
